Make Some Shrinky Dink Jewelry

Shrinky Dink Jewelry
So, I’m still stuck on doodles. I can’t help it, I’m just not tired of them yet! Over the weekend, I played around with an Ipad sketch I posted to our family’s sketchbook blog last week. I liked the colors in this one a lot and tried making some shrinky dink jewelry. Super easy and fun!

I used the Paper 53 app to create the sketch, then took a screenshot image of the finished sketch and imported it into Iphoto. I lightened the colors of the entire image (colors go dark when shrunk), then printed it out onto a sheet of printable shrink plastic sheets.

I cut out around the individual flowers, even the ones that ran off the page, and included some of the surrounding blue.

Punched a hole in each.

Then baked them according to the instructions on the package.

Then I had fun making pendants!

And charm bracelets (some readers may remember the ones I used to make… I still love charm bracelets)-

Make it a great Monday people!

Very cool. I’ll have to check out the shrinky dink film. Do you have to print on it, or can you also just color it with markers like normal shrinky dink film?

Sketchbook Express is also good. I like the way you can keep individual sketchbooks in Paper 53, we each have one.

I also love the printable shrink film. We’ve used it to make magnets (son gave them out as valentines) and charms for presents. You can print and color w/ sharpies (which also makes it a good craft for kids, who can color/embellish a printed doodle).
Shrinking them with a heat gun is fun, too.
