#myquiltcouldlivehere- Sunshine Medallion

The Sunshine Medallion Quilt is one I made, originally, to brighten our bedroom during those dark, drippy Seattle winters we have. I remember the days I’d spent hand quilting it, all while watching a Harry Potter marathon with the kids. The original inspiration was a tile pattern I’d seen and I liked the idea of translating it into patchwork. It was later released it as my first digital quilt pattern and it continues to be one of my best sellers. Truly an easy quilt pattern, beginner friendly, able to be either speed-pieced or made with your very favorite fabric scraps, as I made mine. There have been some beautiful versions of this quilt made by others, and I even made a second, jewel toned version, but I’ll probably always have a soft spot for this original colorway.

I guess I will always think of this pattern as the remedy to a darker spot of the house. I could see it in a very cozy home of filled with special things like handknit sweaters, beautiful artwork, dried flowers, familiar things like that.

The Sunshine Medallion pattern is available in both printed and PDF forms.
