Quilt Market Inspiration

Quilt Market
I got back from St. Louis and Quilt Market yesterday afternoon. A bit of a whirlwind trip which started Thursday with a stop at the Portland Modern Quilt Guild meeting for a lecture and trunk show. What a highlight of my trip that group is, so welcoming and fun! I landed in St. Louis Friday afternoon and got to walk the show, talking and meeting people, for a day and a half. (Is it weird that I love traveling alone?) Anyway, it was such a fantastic trip and I wanted to share some of the beautiful quilts with you that inspired me while I was there. Of course there were lots more quilts, people, and products that were inspiring me too, but let’s settle into some of these beautiful works of quilting art that had me gasping.

The beautiful (beautiful!) quilt, above, made by fellow Aurifil Artisan Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill of Whole Circle Studio made for the folks at Aurifil. Read about the quilt here.

Probably my favorite, “Second Chances” by Rhonda Dort, made from vintage handwork pieces. Gorgeous.

I loved this modern take with the new Rifle Paper Co. fabric line. That the design wasn’t all about the fabric and was spare and modern.

I am almost sure I’m taking a nap right now. So happy to be home.
