Upcycled Whale

Recycled Whale
You saw this one coming, right? A whale made from a cycling jersey? A Tour De France “King of the Mountain” jersey?  Peter’s request, naturally.
Not much time to write today, but truth be told and without going into detail, I’ve been feeling a bit blue. Rare for me, but it happens to the best of us. I just wanted to take a moment to again, say thank you for stopping by here, connecting with me here in this space. It is a bright spot of my day.
As Emma’s recent self-portrait did-
Emma and Gracie
I do love that she loves Gracie the cat so much.

    Blair,
I’m so sorry you’re feeling blue these days. If I lived in Seattle, I’d have you over for cake and tea. 🙂
Just keep repeating…this too shall pass. It always does…eventually. Hopefully, for you, it will be sooner rather than later.
    Bon courage!
    Susan
PS LOVE the whale!! It certainly put a smile on my face.

Oh goodness, that whale. I love your whales and I think you know we’re into cycling over here too. What an adorable-y cute combo. Now Peter has something to clutch while he shouts at the tv during the Alpe d’Huez. Oh wait, maybe that’s only at my house. Actually, there is no Alpe d’Huez stage this year but I know you know what I mean.

The whale made me smile, and the self portrait is so good that my eyes lit up and I was cooing over it before I realized it. Both very good things to make one smile. I’m glad you’re finding things to help you remember that each day has its joys, even in a blue period. Peace to you.

    “That whale makes me smile.”
me, too, and I find that dropping by an seeing your newest creations is a bright spot on my day.
A question, for those others of us who live in Seattle — you create artwork with your daughter, but do you have favorites among the classes and workshops available around here?
My daughter tried to collaborate with me last weekend on producing an American flag on canvas (a derivation of a project done at school, by which she was underwhelmed). I am not trained, neither in art or design, or in teaching my daughter, and we did not get very far. I’d like her to have others to create with (I was bummed that I couldn’t convince her to do the art card exchange, but she is busy).
