Flower Star

The brightest quilts happen when I don’t know where I’m going…

Scrap yellows, golds, pinks, fuchsias. Free motion stitched flowers.

Calico Star Quilt

Calico Star

Two vintage “Holly Hobbie” calicos mixed with solid quilting cottons.

Jewel Boxes

Small bright boxes surrounded by men’s shirtings, woven dobbys, and low value prints.

Echo Star

One of my favorite quilts of all time. Made with scraps, my husband’s old shirts, and other thrifted clothing. Free motion quilted by me.

Make your own Echo Star.

Willy Loman

From my book Wise Craft Quilts. Made from a collection of salesman sample swatches from the 1950’s. Wool, Rayon, Nylon, Sharkskin, you name it, its in here. Some swatches were overdyed with Koolaid.

Instructions to make a quilt similar to this are in my book. If you are ever lucky enough to get your hand’s on mid-century salesman sample swatches, grab them.

Indigo Lone Star

Originally made to try and see how denim performed in fussy piecing like the star points. Made of thrifted denim, free motion quilted by me.

Value Quilt

This is my favorite kind of quilt. Scrappy, showing off dark and light values of as many fabrics as I can find.
