Indigo and Red Sashiko Pendant

Part of the Found and Foraged Collection

Only 1 left in stock

Handstitched with love and care. This pendant is very much like wearing a little piece of art around your neck.

The base fabric is hand dyed vintage Japanese indigo. The stitch pattern is created with two threads, a variegated red/orange/purple cotton Sashiko thread, and hand dyed indigo Sashiko thread for the french knots.

The pendant tray is made from cherry wood, bezel cut and hand polished. It measures 36 x 46 mm.

The chain is brass, 30″ long, and adjustable to 33″.

The Found and Foraged Collection has been an idea in the making for a long time. My thought was to create a way to inspire me to keep producing original work. So often, when a creative passion turns into a business, the process can become overwhelmingly uninspiring. I don’t want that to happen. So why not challenge myself to create new pieces of art? New pieces that allow me to play with new creative ideas, concepts, and materials. It has been pure joy to work on these pieces.
