I trim and square up a lot of half square triangle units for my scrappy quilts. And I probably don’t enjoy it anymore than you do (except maybe when I’m watching a good Netflix series). I have discovered this nifty rotating cutting mat, its one of my new favorite tools. Rather than picking up each half square triangle unit (or quarter square triangle unit, etc) and repositioning it to cut the third and fourth sides, you can simply rotate this mat around. You never have to move your units. You can put it on your larger cutting mat and it grips, so no slipping. Creating more efficiency in little steps like this can save lots of time throughout the entire project! (see video of how easily it rotates).
- non-slip base
- scalloped edge makes for easy rotating with just your fingertips
