Sashiko Brooch 1

Part of the Found and Foraged Collection

Only 1 left in stock

Handstitched with love and care. These brooches are my favorite accessories these days, very much like wearing a little piece of art.

Fabric is vintage Japanese indigo boro cloth. I have added a Sashiko stitch pattern across the surface using hand-dyed indigo blue and brown thread.

The brooch bezel tray is cherry and is hand polished. It measures 34 x 52 mm.

A brooch pin is glued securely to the back.

The Found and Foraged Collection has been an idea in the making for a long time. My thought was to create a way to inspire me to keep producing original work. So often, when a creative passion turns into a business, the process can become overwhelmingly uninspiring. I don’t want that to happen. So why not challenge myself to create new pieces of art? New pieces that allow me to play with new creative ideas, concepts, and materials. It has been pure joy to work on these pieces.
