Sashiko Brooch 2

Part of the Found and Foraged Collection

Only 1 left in stock

Handstitched with love and care. These brooches are my favorite accessories these days, very much like wearing a little piece of art.

Beautiful blues. Fabric is a faded Japanese indigo boro cloth. I have hand stitched a Sashiko stitch pattern using hand-dyed indigo blue and brown thread.

The brooch bezel tray is maple wood and is hand polished. It measures 36 x 46 mm.

A brooch pin is glued securely to the back.

The Found and Foraged Collection is an idea I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The goal is to create a way to inspire me to keep producing original work. So often, a creative passion turns into a business and the process can become overwhelmingly uninspiring. So why not challenge myself to create new pieces of art? New pieces that allow me to play with new creative ideas, concepts, and materials. It has been pure joy to work on these pieces.
