Shipping Changes at Wise Craft Due to US Tariffs: What You Need to Know
The recent—and sometimes daily—changes in U.S. trade and tariff agreements with other countries have made things pretty confusing for small businesses like ours. I’ve learned more about terms like “de minimus” than I ever imagined I would, but here we are. Trying to understand exactly how this impacts Wise Craft Handmade has been challenging. Still, we know how important it is to navigate these changes thoughtfully, so we’ve done our homework to make the best decisions moving forward.

Unfortunately, one of those decisions is to discontinue shipping physical items outside of the United States for now. I realize this is disappointing news. The reason is simple: I do not want anyone to unexpectedly face a duty or tax charge when their order arrives—sometimes those fees are more than the value of the purchase itself. Because these costs are unpredictable right now and would require raising product prices significantly, we’ve been advised that it is best to limit shipping to U.S. addresses only until things stabilize.
But there’s good news!
Digital products and online classes are not affected by these changes. Wise Craft Handmade has an ever-growing catalog of downloadable quilt and embroidery patterns, as well as virtual classes, and those are always available no matter where in the world you live. We are continuing to fine-tune our online shop so customers outside the U.S. can access these products more easily. In the meantime, if you live outside the U.S. and would like to purchase digital download or online class, but run into trouble on this site, you have several options:
• Shop our Etsy store, where all of our digital quilt and embroidery patterns are available.
• Visit our online school, home to our collection of online classes.
• Email us at [email protected] with any questions about availability.
One of the main physical products we often ship worldwide is the Ruby Ruler®. We have yet to find an international distributor to partner with for this product. You can help us by asking for it at your local quilt, fabric, and craft stores. Getting the word spread to a larger multi-level audience is a great way to help us find an international distributor to partner with.
