The Gridline quilt was designed as a 13 month Block of the Month, to showcase 12 different Chicken Scratch Embroidery patterns. Traditionally Chicken Scratch embroidery was done with one color of floss/thread, either the darkest of lightest color in the gingham check. Blair wanted this project to show off having fun with these same Chicken Scratch embroidery patterns in all kinds of colors. The cornerstones are Liberty of London prints that pick up the embroidery floss colors around them.
