Tiny Stones

Whenever we go to the beach (lucky us, its minutes away in several directions), I always look out for smooth stones, pebbles, and beach glass. For fun I thought I would try crocheting a few small stones. They turned out kind of cute, what do you think? Thinking of trying a few more, with a smaller crochet hook, if my eyes can stand it.

Cute. I’d try it with the smaller hook and see if you can put a tiny flower motif on the top. It is cute either way, but I’d love to see it that way.

Thanks to your crochet project, I learned enough crocheting to finally make some covered stones of my own. Have you seen these? http://foothillhomecompanion.blogspot.com/2009/02/winter-berries-tutorial.html

Beautiful work! Funny I plan a nearly similar project 😉 I love stones and I love yarn… you’ve created great combination.

Just discovered your blog and am loving it. Love the rectangle granny square and now I think I must read all of those posts and then make me some crochet stones.

That’s great Sarah! The granny square was what led me down the rabbit hole of crocheted stones. And I just pinned those gorgeous stones on Molly’s blog to my pinterest board, thank you so much for pointing me to it!

They both compliment each other perfectly, yarn and stones.

So beautiful. I’ve rediscovered my love of crocheting this summer working on the quilt with you. My grandmother taught me oh so many years ago – such a fun project to work on. I should probably be able to figure out how to crochet a cover for a rock – but wonder if you’ve got a pattern to share? Thanks so much for the inspiration.
