Advent Calendar

 

Did the 1st of December sneak up on anyone else this year? Sunday found me scrambling a little to fill the pockets of our advent calendar. It has become as much of a tradition for me to spend an afternoon gathering/shopping for the advent treats as it is for the kids to open each day’s advent, so I wasn’t going to let a little rushing around spoil my fun. Every year I try really hard to mix up the treats. One day is always Gingerbread House construction, and Christmas Eve is always a new pair of pjs for everyone. Additionally, this year’s daily highlights will include finger cymbals… party poppers… narwhal finger puppets… magic fish… tiny magic tricks…

I made this advent calendar back in 2007. Every year I love the challenge of finding really small treats to put in the small pockets. If you want to make an advent similar to this one, it will be one of the winter projects in my book, which is now available!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that this book is getting closer to being out into the world.
