Once upon a time, Blair happened upon a kind of finished quilt top on Ebay. It was scrappy, not very well pieced, and honestly looked like the sewer just gave up at some point. But something about the blocks themselves got Blair thinking. She hates geometry (had to take it twice in college) but she played and played around with simple shapes that could be sewed together, trimmed, and cut into sections, turned, and sewn together again. The individual pieces were resized to be more standard, and the finished blocks were extra large. The original maker of that old quilt top might have had a better time with Blair’s version.
