Project Description

Blair studied alot of textile chemistry as she learned about fabric in college, and one of her favorite things to do is brighten and clean old textiles, like the pheasant needlework piece that inspired the Pheasant quilt. It was found at a thrift store in Seattle, Washington, oddly cut with not enough fabric on all 4 sides to avoid cutting of part of the work if it was to be framed (which may have been why it ended up in a giveaway pile). The pink and dark coral leaves in the needlework inspired the colors of this quilt, which is a variation of the classic Ninja Star block.
