This ruler has a specially-designed lip along one edge to allow you to cut seam allowances to an exact quarter inch. Specifically designed to work with Foundation Paper Piecing, this brand new version of the Add A Quarter ruler now has a tapered edge along one side so that you can accurately fold back the foundation paper. Fold back the paper, flip the ruler around, aligning the 1/4″ lip to the sewing line on the paper, and trim your fabric to a 1/4″ seam allowance. I couldn’t do paper piecing without this ruler. (Also works for marking fabrics for hand piecing!)
