My husband pointed me to an article in the newest Architectural Digest issue about Dorothy Liebes, considered “the mother of modern weaving”.

I was intrigued and went down a little bit of a rabbit hole looking at her beautiful, vibrantly-colored weavings. The colors (!) and types of unconventional materials she often used- lurex, cellophane, and recycled plastics to name a few.

I love learning more about innovative women like Dorothy, who helped paved the way in textile design of all kinds. Wanted to keep this here on the blog to refer back to.
