New Quilting Workshops!

 

 

As we ease back into in-person workshops and lectures, It felt like a good time to update my workshop and lecture offerings. I miss teaching in person, but I have really come around to virtual lectures and workshops, both as a teach and a student. It opens learning up to so many more people! There’s been lots of work happening here at our Santa Fe house. To bring you up to date- We had planned to buy a house with a studio already built, but when we found our house and its amazing location, we quickly decided it was THE house. Its super lovely but small, even for 2 people who downsized before moving in. Adding on to it was always part of the plan. We finalized plans to add on to it in 2020, but COVID and things that go with that initially slowed things down. Construction finally started about 10 weeks ago.

Shows to watch while crafting

 

Yesterday we had our monthly Zoom meet up for the Snowflake Sampler Block of the Month. We all agree that hand stitching- really any kid of crafting- has provided a nice way to keep hands busy and relax our mind when we sit down. Some of our members live is areas that are now experiencing their 3rd lockdown and warnings of possibly more. Keeping our hands busy, and creating a rhythm with our movement is a great way to relax the mind and calm our thoughts. And I’m not going to lie, the added surprise of a new block each month in our BOM has been fun too!

In honor of Earth Day this week (April 22), I wanted to talk about PDF quilt patterns. I think they are so great. For both buyers and sellers. When I design a new quilt pattern, I offer it in PDF form (the buyer downloads as soon as they purchase, then print at home if they want), and in printed form (sourced and printed from a local company, packaged in a clear envelope, shipped, etc).READ MORE
