ByHand Serial Issue #5
I recently did a fun project for the folks at ByHand Serial, for their Lookbook #5. Coming off the fun of the Sashiko stitchalong , as well as the acceptance of the Boro quilt from Wise Craft Quilts into QuiltCon next month, I was itching to make some more hand stitching-inspired projects.
The Sashiko Tote in the newest ByHand was such a fun project to make, and I am so honored to grace their beautiful pages once again (they travelled to Seattle to interview me in my studio for the #4 Puget Sound Issue).
The idea behind this tote bag is simple- attach your very favorite or most meaningful scraps, add to the story with your hand stitches, and you have a beautiful tote that you can use every day.
The hand stitches of the tote really add lots of reinforcement to the bag. Its sturdy and hardworking. I’ve been carrying it myself. In fact, its become my new favorite bag!
