Noticing More Details Everywhere

Noticing
Now that I am sketching each day, I find myself actively looking for inspiration and noticing details everywhere. Lots of stopping and taking pictures of things to sketch once I’m home. Feels nice to slow down this way.

Noticing
I painted the feathers I found in watercolor here.

The hydrangeas and the fir saplings in our neighbor’s yard inspired these watercolors.

This pink flower inspired this watercolor.

blair ++ thank you for reminding me of one of the greatest joys of daily sketching! i had forgotten how much i noticed everything when i was sketching daily. i’ve been a little lazy about it, but you’ve inspired me to start my daily sketching habit again!

I am loving this project. I wonder if you could address either here or on The Sketchbook Project the tools each of you are using? As someone just starting out down this road, I find that interesting. Thanks for sharing!

I could draw hydrangeas for days! Especially trying to get all the gorgeous faded late summer blues and purples just right (hard!).

I’ve decided even if mine are bad, I will post them, because its all a part of the process of learning. I keep telling myself they aren’t supposed to be print ready images, just sketches. But I love doing it every day (at least right now!). Thank you Tammie!

Hi Daniela, thank you so much! Next Friday I will be posting another granny square post to finish it all up. I think I took a small break from it without realizing it! But never fear, it will be back, stay tuned! : D

I always find for myself that my inspiration comes from what I see. I always get the creative juices flowing when I see other beauty’s of life.
