A few weeks ago I finished the quilt top for the Foralee mushroom quilt that I started about a year ago. I sent it off to my friend who will longarm it for me, but before I said goodbye to it, I created some blank cards of 6 of my very favorite mushroom blocks.

This quilt idea began with a vintage quilt my friend Neicy came across in Washington State. I fell in love with it the minute she showed my photos of it. I just thought it was the coolest, grooviest quilt I’d seen in a long time! She made blank greeting cards of some of her favorite blocks and I sold them in my shop until they sold out.

I got Neicy’s blessing to make these new greeting cards (she no longers makes cards) and I have made 6 different card designs from a few of my very favorite blocks.

The fabrics I used in the Foralee quilt are also some of my favorites. Mainly yarn dyed Japanese Taupe fabrics, with some vintage and miscellaneous favorites mixed in. (Life is TOO short to not use the prettiest fabric!).
