New free class- Quilt Batting and Basting

Quilt Batting and Basting

You’ve finished that quilt top. Picked all the perfect colors and fabrics, matched points as you sewed it all up, gave it your best shot. It’s done and you can’t wait to use it.

But wait, there’s a few more steps!

In my beginner-focused workshops, choosing the batting and basting the 3 layers together is confusing. (The 3 layers that make a quilt, a quilt- the front, the batting, and the backing, and you will need all 3 layers to make your quilt useable). A quilt top can come to a screeching halt at these steps. We spend all the time on figuring out the details of the quilt front! So there it sits, that beautiful quilt top, just folded up and unfinished.

In honor of these pretty, unfinished quilt tops that deserve to be finished, I have created a brand new free class in my online school. It contains video how-to lessons and downloadable PDFs with links. Enroll in my school, sign up for the class. Inside the class, learn what type of quilt batting I prefer and 2 different ways I baste my quilt layers together (either on a tabletop, or on a wall). From there, you will have your 3 layers held together and ready for the next step, which is quilting. Look for more videos in the coming weeks on that step.
