I spent a week in Taos in the Summer of 2022 working on a personal project. I wanted to explore the idea of the scraps a quilt maker makes, keeps, and uses.
How small is too small?
I brought very limited materials with me for the retreat, so that I could really focus on that question. Color seemed to be the biggest motivation for each of these pieces. They were all such a joy to make.
No. 5 is filled with the sweetest scraps from a couple of quilts I made this year, solids in my current color palette obsession of violets, mustards, corals.. a tiny remnant of a vintage embroidered napkin, and Liberty of London
