Something New Is Coming!
If you are not subscribed to my email newsletter, you may not have known that I have a very big reveal coming up in a couple of weeks! I’ve been working all summer on what I will be sharing with you very soon, and I really can’t wait to share more! I surveyed many of and got such good information on how to move forward with presenting you with content you want to see from me. I’m so grateful for you all, those who read and follow along here on the website, and those of you who follow me elsewhere. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
But first, I will head to Taos, New Mexico for a weeklong artist’s retreat at the Mabel Dodge Luhan house. I will be sharing lots from my week there, stay tuned for that too! When I booked this, I had no idea how much I would really need this week away when the time finally came. It’s been quite a year for our family. I lost my mom in July, we lost my father-in-law in February after a very long health battle, and New Year’s Day marked 1 year since we lost my mother-in-law, who also had a sudden and severe health battle of her own. We are very blessed to live in close proximity to family and I have made dear, supportive friends since we moved to New Mexico. I have so much to be grateful for.
I will leave you with a Mary Oliver poem I keep on my phone-
Wild Geese
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
