Visual Cues
I am going to blog as often as possible this week, simply because I’m just not feeling like blogging. Can you tell? Does that reasoning make sense? (I know, me neither.)
When I redid the family room last week, Ian and I spent an afternoon tasking ourselves with checking every marker its usability, tossing the dead soldiers, and sharpening all the colored pencils (add it to your Christmas list moms…an electric pencil sharpener is the gift that keeps on giving, trust me). I sprayed a clean soup can with white spray paint to hold the colored pencils. And? What do you know? Suddenly everyone wants to draw. Imagine!

March 30, 2010 at 7:39 amI wonder if an electric pencil sharpener would fit in an easter basket?

March 30, 2010 at 8:32 amlove your reasoning. right there with you on the feelings behind it (obviously.). and dying for a good strong electric pencil sharpener – the kind that plugs in and doesn’t break after 2 weeks. our crank sharpener (which we love) is now hanging in b.’s room – which is great for him, but not so convenient when i’m in the kitchen with a dull pencil. (ps – tossing dead markers is one of my favorite tasks.)

March 30, 2010 at 8:44 amOh, good idea!! Spray paint the can. I like it. I just use theese awesome red and yellow, Caffee Bustelo coffee cans, but I like the idea os adding new colors. Spray paint is my friend, but I hadn’t considered this.
Thanks for more inspiration.

March 30, 2010 at 10:47 amso funny, the only thing I asked for this christmas was an old school pencil sharpener that I could screw into my desk. I was so tired of never having a sharp pencil. After sharpening 20 or so pencils in a row I regretted not asking for an electric one.
Amazing how a the little things we do inspire so much.

March 31, 2010 at 4:31 amI just adore a pot of freshly sharpened pencils! Although, I do wish that my Alice (20 months) would use the expensive beeswax crayons I bought her, & not suck the ink from crayola felt tips…
Thanks as ever for the beautiful blog!
