I was excited to sit down recently with Susan of the Measure Twice, Cut Once podcast, to talk about my approach to quilting, what keeps me excited all these years into my quilting practice, as well as my accidental obsession with Chicken Scratch embroidery.

Color has always been an important aspect in my life and my work. Both the abundance of it, as well as when I don’t want too much of it. My love of certain colors has always remained consistent, and I can react to the right color can be pretty emotional. I’ve never stopped to think why this is. Is it something I’ve learned over many years of focusing on it? Is it something that is innate? Could it be even something like the rods and cones that make up my eyes, do they detect something I see in colors that others may not? I really don’t know. But whatever it is, I’m grateful for it.
