The Aurifil 2020 Designer of the Month Series
I am very honored to have been asked to be among the team of talented quilters and artists who make up the Designer of the Month Series, put on each year by Aurifil Thread and Pat Sloan. What is this you ask?
A series of 12 quilt blocks, one block a month, each by a different designer, for 12 months. The theme for 2020 is The Colors of Italy. We each use a city in Italy as inspiration for our block, along with colors from the new Aurifil Color Builder Collections.

Aurifil thread is made in Italy, so how fitting is it that we virtually travel through beautiful Italy with our quilt blocks?
How it works
Each month, the designer for that month designs a 12″ quilt block inspired by a city in Italy, using threads from the Color Builder collection.
Follow along with us and make all the blocks, or make your version of any month’s block you fancy. This program is free to join in and make the blocks along with us. And guess what, my block is releasing in January! Milan is the inspiration, which is fitting, its the one city I’ve visited the most in Italy. Back in my apparel design days, Milan was a stop on our European “what’s new in fashion” tour.
