The Hera Marker by Clover is my favorite tool for marking straight lines on quilts or to mark Sashiko stitch patterns onto the front of fabrics.

Mark a line on your fabric or quilt top easily by running the Hera marker against the edge of your acrylic quilting ruler. By applying a bit of pressure, you leave a faint but visible crease on your fabric.
