When I wrote my book, Wise Craft Quilts, back in 2017, there was one quilt that stood out as a reader favorite. I am so pleased to finally be able offer this quilt design, newly named Arda, as a stand alone pattern! Complete with an expanded size range, more detailed instructions, and helpful videos, this pattern is extremely doable for all skill levels.

This quilt is modern in its design, and scrappy in its fabric choices. There is no kit and pre-selected grouping of fabrics to make the Arda quilt. Instead, I encourage you to embrace all the fabric you have in your stash- pull the prints and colors that you are currently responding to- and use them to create this glowy, dimensional design. There is really no way to go wrong with this quilt. And the beautiful result is uniquely YOU and a snapshot of your curated fabric stash.

A quilt like this relies on one strong design tool- color value. Don’t think of your fabric stash as blues, greens, reds, etc. Instead, look at the whole stash as darks and lights. You will be excited to see how fabrics look beside each other and to create a true snapshot of fabrics you have lovingly gathered over the years.
