DIY Wood Burning a Pendant

I decided to do some creative playing last week. It’s an important part of the creative process for all of us, and boy was it fun for me. One of the things I made were these wood burned pendants for Emma and myself. I thought I would share how to make them, it really couldn’t be easier.

Wood Burned Pendant

Materials:

To make these, you will need a wood burning (something like this is great) and blank wood disks.
I also used a Frixion pen to sketch out some initial shapes. They are heat sensitive and the marks disappear with heat from an iron (or a woodburning tool).

To Make:

I first sketched out some flowers-

Once the heat from the woodburning tool gets close to the drawn lines, they will disappear, but by then you’re ready to draw with the tool directly on the pendant.

Tie them up with some leather cording you have a new pendant!

I have a Frixion pen and for some reason did not know that the ink is heat sensitive. This changes EVERYTHING. Woohoo.

Just wanted to let you know, your book is in Tokyo! I saw it at the Kinokuniya Books in Shinjuku earlier in the week! So cool!
