Join me at Gossypium Quilt Shop in Issaquah

I am so excited to be working with Gossypium Quilt Shop and Fabric Store on some upcoming workshops. I really love supporting my local quilt shops and this one is very local, so I’m extra lucky. There are spots available in the workshops and tickets available for the lecture, so grab a spot and join us!

Lecture

Color Value lecture and Trunk Show/Q&A- November 6, 6:30- 8:00– $20,

You lay your quilt design out and something is missing, but you aren’t sure what it is or how to figure a way out to change it. We’ve all been there! Using scrap fabrics and making do is the very essence of quilt making. In this lecture and trunk show, Blair will discuss her modern approach to scrappy quilting. Learn more about how she uses color value in the old and new fabrics she has collected over the years to create the quilts she designs. Gain some new insight into how to shop for fabrics to compliment your stash, and how to understand color value differences in your designs.

Workshops

Find The Value In Your Scraps Workshop- November 18th, 10:30-5:30pm, $75

In this full day workshop, bring your favorite fabrics (and those you just don’t know how to use) and I will guide you in not overthinking how to use them in a quilt design. Learn to understand and use the power of color value in group of fabrics. We?ll divide fabrics up into color value piles.

Slow Stitching and Visible Mending Workshop- December 5th, 5:00- 8:00pm, $50

Inspired by the quilt “Boro” from my book, Wise Craft Quilts. In this workshop, we will make a mini quilt top or pillow top version of the quilt from the book. We will learn how to add character to a base cloth with layers of patches and hand stitches. Boro cloth is a term used to describe the beautiful Japanese art of patching and piecing together old, worn cloth, to make useable cloth.
