My Newest Class on Creativebug launches today- Sew A Roman Stripe Color Value Quilt
In this workshop, I will walk you through all the steps for making a scrappy quilt using lots of fabrics. The block itself is simple to construct and that’s intentional, we put the focus on design and making a quilt that is unique to the many fabrics you love! Using dark and light color value, we create a color value transition from light to dark across the quilt. I’ll teach you how to create this effect.
I can guarantee that if you have never focused on color value in your quilt making, I will open your eyes to what you can do with it!
When the quilt top is completed, it can often be intimidating to know exactly how to sandwich and assemble the quilt layers together. Not to worry, I will walk you through exactly how I do this. Once the layers are sewn together, I’ll walk you through my foolproof binding technique.
When you are done, you have a beautiful, colorful quilt that will brighten up any space!
The quilt I make in the workshop is 42″ square, with 7 rows and 7 columns, each representing a color of the rainbow. I have a limited number of kits available to make the quilt top very similar to the one I make in the workshop. This is a great option if you are lacking a big fabric stash, and want a little more variety.

I am thrilled to offer this workshop. My goal is to demystify not only the quilt making process (and hopefully make it fun) but also open your eyes to color value!
